报告摘要

In flat-band superconductors, superconducting properties are governed by the quantum metric of the Bloch states rather than conventional BCS theoretical framework. The vanishing group velocity of electrons leads to distinct quantum geometric phenomena. We demonstrate that vortex bound states exhibit pronounced localization within the core, with both their spatial extent and energy scale determined by the quantum metric length of the flat band. Near the critical temperature Tc, the vortex size is described by the Ginzburg–Landau coherence length and follows the divergent behavior ξ∼TcTc−Tξ0, where ξ0 is linearly related to the quantum metric length. These results reveal that the quantum metric imposes a fundamental lower bound on both the vortex core size and the broadening of bound states. By introducing dispersive perturbations, we further distinguish flat-band vortex physics from conventional BCS behavior. This work establishes vortices as a universal probe of quantum geometric effects in flat-band superconductors, providing new insights into superconducting systems beyond the conventional paradigm.


嘉宾简介

Chuang Li, a postdoc at Zhejiang University. He earned his Bachelor's and Doctoral degrees from Zhejiang University in 2014 and 2019, respectively. Following his Ph.D., he pursued postdoctoral research at Huazhong University of Science and Technology and the University of Science and Technology of China. His theoretical condensed matter research spans topological materials, altermagnetism, and superconducting vortices. He is also actively exploring quantum heterojunctions and superconducting diodes. He has published numerous papers as the first author in academic journals such as NSR, PRL, and PRB.
